The seminar opened with a welcome remark by Dr. Tran Du Lich, Deputy Chairman of the Vietnam International Arbitration Center (VIAC), and an opening speech by Mr. Pham Binh An, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Development Research Institute, sharing about trends and aspects to consider for the implementation of sustainable development in Vietnam.
The seminar also featured presentations by Mr. Giandomenico Zappia, Member of the EuroCham Vietnam Board of Directors, Vice Chairman of the Green Development Committee, Chairman of the Global Sustainable Finance Subcommittee (TBC); Mr. Trinh Quoc Vu, Deputy Director, Department of Energy Conservation and Sustainable Development, Ministry of Industry and Trade (TBC); Ms. Do Thi Thu Ha, Deputy General Director, Head of Sustainable Development Advisory Department, Infrastructure, Government and Healthcare Sector Leader, KPMG Vietnam; Lawyer Dang The Duc, Managing Director of Indochine Counsel International Consulting Company.
To share practical experience on ESG implementation in businesses, Ms. Vo Thi Lien Huong, General Director of Secoin Joint Stock Company and Ms. Huynh Thi Xuan Lien, Member of PNJ ESG Committee, Chairman of CAO Member Council shared their own experiences on integrating environmental, social and governance factors into corporate governance.
At the semiar, Ms. Vo Thi Lien Huong - General Director of Secoin Joint Stock Company shared about the global building materials industry landscape, Secoin's key SDGs goals, identification of ESG material areas, and practical experience in implementing sustainable development activities for businesses, especially on green supply chain management and building factories according to green standards - lean manufacturing.
Ms. Vo Thi Lien Huong also shared that each business needs to build its own ESG journey, green transformation is key for Vietnamese businesses to participate in the global green supply chain, and the business action program needs to be towards the common goal of the country and the industry.
