The signing ceremony of the Lean Manufacturing Consultancy project of Panasonic ESBCT (Japan) for the production system of Secoin

On March 8^th, the signing ceremony of the Lean Manufacturing Consultancy project of Panasonic ESBCT (Japan) for the production system of Secoin was held at the Secoin Saigon Industry Investment Joint- stock Company (Binh Duong). Under the framework of the project, Panasonic will send their experts from Japan to Secoin factory in Vietnam every month to carry out training, consulting and jointly deploy the lean production program during the period from March 2018 to the end of February 2019.

Attending the signing ceremony on the Japanese side there were Mr. Yukihiro Okamura, President of Panasonic ESBCT together with their experts and lectures. On Secoin side there were Mr. Dinh Hong Ky – Chairman of the company with the Board of Management and Secoin staffs from the North, the Central and the South of Vietnam. Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Okamura shared: “Panasonic is a large corporation just celebrating 100 years of establishment and Secoin is a Vietnamese enterprise preparing to have the 30^th anniversary.  Since the establishment of Panasonic, Mr. Matsushita Konosuke had the motto “making people before making product”. I can see in Secoin the freshness and efforts to go forward and I believe that you will succeed. Secoin should do this project with the mind of the person who wants to rise to the top of the world. All Secoin managers must constantly learn for the development of Secoin.”

After the signing ceremony, the two sides immediately embarked on the implementation of the project. Consultant Otsuki Etsurou – who has more than 40 years of experience in manufacturing management at Japanese factories, has trained Secoin staff on how to conduct factory improvements. The Concrete roof tiles, encaustic cement tiles, terrazzo tiles and block production departments were respectively evaluated by the Panasonic expert team to analyze the current situation and to select topic for improvement and lean production. Specific objectives related to quality improvement, productivity increase and waste reduction are addressed to all managers and all Secoin production departments.

Secoin is a Vietnamese enterprise established in 1989 with a system of 10 factories spreading across the North, the Central and the South of Vietnam to produce new environmentally friendly non-burnt building materials. Secoin’s products have been exported to nearly 60 countries on six continents, especially in some big construction material retailer chains in Europe and USA. With the increasing demand from customers around the world, manufacturers who want to integrate, compete and find and long-standing position in the global economy need to constantly update and improve. Enterprises not only need to make good products but also require some production systems to be perfect to meet with international standards, including labor standards, health and safety, environmental and business ethics standards. This program helps receiving advices from Panasonic ESBCT to help Secoin build a safe, efficient and international production environment. This is also a factor that contributes to get the prestige and trust of the foreign customers for Vietnamese manufacturing enterprises such as Secoin.
